FIELD ACCESSORIES
Apart from the airplane, radio and engine, you also need some other
accessories for flying. These are explained as;
Fuel Pump.
As the name tells you, it is used to pump the fuel from your container
into the Aircraft's tank. It can be an Electric, Manual, a squeeze bulb
or even a Syringe, whatever works for you.
Glow Driver.
This is a device that plugs onto the Engine's Plug and glows it for
initial startup. It contains a rechargeable Nicad battery and again there
is a variety of these available in the market.
Starter.
A starter is needed to Kick and start your engine. You can also use
a wooden stick to kick start your engine, but sometimes you do come across
to need an electric starter.
Power Panel.
A power panel is an electronic equipment that provides proper current
for all the electric equipment you use, i.e. Electric starter, electric
fuel pump, Glow driver if not using Nicad Battery powered.
12 V Battery
Of course if you have electric equipment, you need power too. This
battery provides power to the Power Panel which then distributes properly
to the individual components. There is also a variety of these batteries.
Wet, Dry, Nicad rechargeable etc.
Field Box.
Filed box is used to carry all the above mentioned accessories to the
field.
Tools.
It is better
to have some general tools as well to fix minor problems at the field.
These include for opening plug, some
allen
keys, screw drivers, knife, spare plugs, spare screws, nuts and bolts etc.
