HOW TO KNIT A SWEATER FOR YOUR YORKIE

Since this is a very basic pattern, you should be able to add or subtract easily to get the sweater size of your Yorkie.

Fingering Yar and #2 Knitting Needles

Gauge: 12 Rows=One Inch; 8 Stitches=One Inch

Directions:

Cast on 66 sts MC. K1 P1 for 2" (24 rows).
Work in stockinette ST another 2" (24 rows).
At the beginning of the next row, K across 9 sts and place on a holder, then knit through the row, placing the last 9 sts onto a holder as well.
K on remaining 48 sts for 1 1/2" (18 rows).
At beg of next row cast on 9 sts and at end of row cast on 9 sts.
K even for 3" (36 rows). Decrease 1 st each end every other row, 12 times.
Bind off.

Working on one side, pick up 9 sts. from holder, 9 sts on side, 9 sts from bound off sts.
K1 P1 on 27 sts for 2" (24 rows).
Bind off.

Repeat for other leg.

One Lucky Yorkie will have a warm cuddle sweater this year.
