Breeder-Members of the Longhaired Whippet Association breed only purebred Whippets. Many of those Whippets exhibit or carry the longhaired gene. It is those dogs that exhibit the longhaired gene that are known as the variety of Whippet called Longhaired Whippets.
Longhaired Whippet Association accredited breeders are breeders of pure Longhaired Whippets, registered by the LWA and adhering to the breed standard in raising health tested and certified dogs from puppies to pets or show dogs. Striving for elegant, graceful, charming, healthy, sound & loving family members always!
The LWA does not breed, recognize, nor register any dogs that are the result of cross-breeding or refered to as a "Percentage of Longhaired Whippet", nor called by the breed name "Windsprite".
