The drain pipe from the kitchen sink goes down through the floor of the kitchen into the basement and runs along just below the ceiling in the laundry room. Halfway across the room, there is a joint connecting two sections of pipe. The joint leaked so I had a problem, right. Well, the joint was directly above one of the laundry tubs, so the water in the pipe would go drip ... drip ... drip ... into the laundry tub. No problem! Except there was a crack in the tub, so the water would drip ... drip ... drip ... into the laundry tub and drip ... drip ... drip ... onto the floor.
