My most recent update is attached and can be viewed at and downloaded from here.
This web page is set up as the home of my genealogy database which you can access here and at http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/TomRowlands/ROWLANDS/index.htm .
This database contains some 4600 names all of whom are connected to my close family and are people who lived and are still living mainly in Merioneddshire and Denbighshire in North Wales. However descendants also lived or are living in Canada, The United States, Australia, New Zealand, Patagonia and many other countries.
This data has been put together over some fifteen years and is the result of a great deal of assistance from many quarters. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those friends and acquaintances who have assisted me.
This data has been accessible on the web at the above address for about three years, but unfortunately, although the data is still accessible, I am unable to update it there. In that location the data has been used by a considerable number of visitors and many of those visitors have commented very positively on the data. The purpose of publication is to provide data which might be of interest to other genealogists as well as to assist me in improving the quality of the data and adding to it.
When this data collection was started in about 1985 genealogical computer software was not available and it would have been virtually impossible to connect all of this data without the software that has become available. It started by using a software prepared by Phillip E. Brown and called Family History System. This software has many useful and unique features which I still use from time to time. It accessed and downloaded from http://fhs.tallahassee.net/
A more developed software which has now been adjusted to the latest Windows features is Brothers Keeper by John Steed and this is shareware which can be downloaded from http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Brothers_Keeper/
Some three years ago I discovered Ultimate Family Tree which at that time had features which were more advanced than others and I have been using it as my main software since. It provided easy web uploading features, but as I have mentioned, the support features might not be available for much longer. A trial version of this software is, I believe, still downloadable from http://www.uftree.com/
