Our quiet resort offers peaceful relaxation. The Quiet Place is on the Little Mississippi River in Central Ontario, which joins the York and Madawaska Rivers providing over 90 miles of unobstructed boating all the way to Lake Kamaniskeg and Barry's Bay. We have excellent fishing for Large and Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Pickerel, Trout and Muskie. We boast having caught the largest Rock Bass on record in The Little Mississippi River by one of our guests! Fishing licenses are available locally in nearby Boulter.

From our docks canoeists can paddle leisurely downstream or venture upstream and portage to more secluded waterways and rapids. For the more experienced, the King's Marsh makes a wonderful excursion.

We have horseshoes, volleyball and a children's playground with swings, climbers and a sandbox. A swimming pond with a sand beach has been added near the river. It has a gradual slope on one shore and drops to 12 feet deep on the other side. A large beach can be found at Foster Lake - a few minutes drive away - with picnic areas, swings and a public boat launch.

Spend hours walking the trails on the 100 acres of Quiet Place or venture into the thousands of acres of crown land that surrounds our resort. Explore the many hidden lakes and streams where the fishing makes the hike to them worth the effort. Don't be surprised if a deer or rabbit runs across your path on the way!

The surrounding hills are beautiful in the fall as the leaves change and the winter is breath-taking as you cross-country ski or snowmobile for miles. Skating on the river is lots of fun, or toboggan down a nearby hill. Snowmobiles and ATVs are available for rent to help you enjoy the scenery.

Duck hunters will find the nearby Conroy Marsh rewarding. Deer and bear hunters are rarely disappointed.

Horseback riding is now offered at The Quiet Place Stables. Lessons in our riding ring or trail rides through the mountains take place daily. Quiet Place guests receive special rates or may take advantage of our riding packages.

Our four seasons area offers our guests many opportunities to visit local fairs and participate in a variety of activities in the surrounding communities. Events are listed on our bulletin board.

Our cottages accommodate 2 to 8 people. Pines has hot and cold running water and a two-piece washroom. It is a two bedroom cottage with a sleeping loft. The rest are two-bedroom cottages in various sizes, except Oak and Tamarack which are one room cabins. These cottages have wood-burning stoves (wood provided), electricity, outside washrooms and running water. All are completely equipped housekeeping cottages including bedding linens. Each cottage has it's own firepit, barbeque and picnic table.

Shower houses with hot and cold running water are centrally located for all guests.

Your pets are welcome at Quiet Place. We do ask that they be kept quiet and on a leash while you are here - - pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

We have docks and a launching area with plenty of free parking. We do not charge a docking or launching fee to our guests. All boats and trailers may be parked in the designated area near the water.
