Meditation

Jonathan's Random Meditation Tip #3

Don't say that you'll give a daily tip on meditation when all you can come up with is just a few days worth. :)

But seriously:

Location, location, location,
The popular business term works here as well, scary I know. ;) When we meditate, it may be a good idea to have a special place to do so. Some are fortunate enought to afford to dedicate an entire room to their meditation, but some us, especialy if you're still living with your parents. So a particular corner of your room would be ideal. You may find that if a specific spot is dedicated to something, you'll fall into that mind set as soon as you enter the area. Studies have shown that if you use a desk just for school work, you'll probably have an easier time staying focused. Rather than doing homework in the chair you watch tv in and play video games.

Also, I have read a lot about meditation, and they all say about 30 mins a day is a good time set, but only a few cared to say when that 30 mins should take place. Well, acording to a book called "Conquest of Mind" (which is a very worth while read) the ideal time is to meditate in the morning, so you can have that joyful mind set follow you thorought the day. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

This tip was made possible by "Conquest of Mind" by Eknath Easwaran. Thank you for all the wisdom you shared.

~Jonathan
