Canadian musician Kevin Budd builds his own pan flutes, composes music, and performs on pan flute, flute, trumpet, caval,
guitar and recorder and even some bouzouki! Recorded with Engineer Rich Dodson, of "The Stampeders"
at Marigold Sound in Toronto, Canada.
You can hear some samples by clicking on the blue song names. Original compositions, performed by Kevin on his hand-made pan flutes, plus one Sting song.
1) BLUE MORPHO:   Inspired by a journey to the Amazon to meet a shaman and by the shimmering butterfly of that name. See the video and hear the whole tune here
Blue Morpho video
2) THE MAYQUEEN: Queen Guinevere rides
‘a-maying’ into the woods, heralded here by a bouzouki and gentle recorder.
3) DEEP BREATH: The haunting title melody has traditional pan flute phrases and influences of gypsy, classical, and tango.
4) CASCADE : A gorgeous slow waltz suggesting waterscapes, longing and mystery. It opens and ends with a pan flute fanfare.
5) FIELDS OF GOLD: The great familiar song by artist Sting, in an instrumental version, with pan pipes instead of bagpipes.
6) TEN-TATION : A very catchy Balkan-influenced jazz piece in 10/8 rhythm. Reminiscent of Dave Brubeck.
7) OCTAVIA: An unusual eight-bar chord pattern moves this piece along, with a variety of melody lines riding happily above.
8) DOINA & HORA OF PLANATSCH: This tune follows the folk structure of a doina, (lament), followed by a hora (dance).
9) CHANSON SANS MAITRE: Written in Arosa, Switzerland, it features alto silver flute and pan flute; languid and beautiful.
10) POIANA "The Glade" (in Romanian) an energetic tune with nice motion that suggests a magical place of rest and discovery.
11) STARS THAT RISE: A whistled welcome begins this lullaby. "Stars that rise, stars that fall, one night you may see them all."
12) HILLSIDE: The dramatic melody extends over a wide range from high to low, drawing one down a hillside and up again.
13) THIS WAY FRIENDS: This song recalls a greeting ritual, as when friends, in a dream, welcome us warmly into their midst.
