"Crime is Cultural:
A View from Canada & Japan"
Canada's first Asian woman judge and the author of an award winning book, "Bittersweet Passage: Redress and the Japanese Canadian Experience", Judge Omatsu will discuss her impressions of differences between Japanese and Canadian approaches to crime, prisons and sentencing. She has just returned from a visit to Japan and it confirmed her thesis that such differences are culturally relative.
