OUR MISSION To deliver unique, problem-based, solution-oriented, quality services and programmes to families in cost effective, timely fashion, in a non-judgmental, non-blaming environment, resulting in positive, healthy, lasting changes for our clients.

WHO WE ARE... The Family Awareness and Drug Education Halton Peel Centre is a community based non-profit, charitable organization devoted to helping those suffering from addiction to alcohol, other drugs, and behavioral disorders such as gambling. Since our professionally trained staff members are living in their own recovery, we also understand the effects of addiction on family members. We are available to all those affected by this disease. We provide community support by working with other services involved with our clients. The majority of funds necessary to operate our programs are raised in the Community with the assistance of much appreciated volunteers.

• We provide education and information about Alcohol, Drugs and Gambling. • We provide in-house counselling. • We assess, match and arrange referrals. • We deal with lifeskills, anger-management, couples counselling • We act as a consultant to other services.

THE FAMILY AWARENESS CENTRE

Jackie is Executive Director of the Family Awareness Centre and reports to the Board of Directors. Her background includes a desire to aid and assist people with addictions, and her expertise in administration and finance aid her in achieving this goal without government funding. Jackie has worked in all aspects of addictions treatment for 20 years, and has hands-on experience in all areas from assessment to treatment, including work in half-way houses with ex-offenders. She is also skilled in the area of N.L.P., self- esteem, and anger management.
