Geopolitical Hot Spots - ASSIGNMENT

In this assignment you will be accessing the Internet (World Wide Web) to research information on a particular country that is currently or has just recently experienced conflict. You will work with a partner to collect information and present this information as a Web Page. You can use a program on the school network to create your Web Page called HTML Editor or use a word processor and the HTML reference page I gave you.

While researching about your particluar country/region, please keep a record of the addresses of interesting sites, and keep copies of graphics and text you would like to include in your Web Page on one floppy disk. As you create your Web page, include your images and links to sites and save your Web page file on the same floppy diskette. I will upload your finished product to the course site so all can see your work.

Each pair of students will research one country. (Use the E-mail directory to contact your partner). Please only one group per country. E-mail me with you and your partners name and your nation/region requested. I will E-mail you back ASAP with a confirmation of your topic. Your research should include

1) the current situation and

2) a brief history of how the country has become or is becoming a centre of conflict.

It should basically outline the situation which is or has recently occurred and give someone who knows nothing about the situation, a reasonable understanding of the situation. One or two web pages of information would be sufficient. Please be creative in including your links to other sites and the use of images.

DUE DATE: Dec 5-bonus if submitted early ( you can E-mail me the files as attachments or bring all the files on one floppy diskette to the Geography Office)
