What qualifications do I need?

Medical degree - Certificate of licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) - One of: (a) Certificate in Family Medicine or Specialty, (b) Certificate from the College of Physicians of Quebec, (c) At least two years of training from an accredited Canadian or American program, (d) in limited circumstances, physicians eligible for licensure in the State of Maine (USA), or (e) certain foreign certified specialists who could be employed by a hospital or institution (limited to psychiatry, pathology, anesthesiology).

What exams do I need to write?

Evaluation Exam - Qualifying Exam Part 1 - Qualifying Exam Part 2 - Specialty or Family Medicine Exam

What are the residency/immigration requirements?

You must be able to provide evidence that you are legally entitled to live and work in Canada.

What are the language requirements?

You must be able to communicate in English

How much does it all cost?

Evaluating Exam $1000
Qualifying Exam Part 1 $ 650
Qualifying Exam Part 2 $1000
Certificate Exam $1035
Registration fee $ 200

What are the steps I need to take?

Write exams - Complete training in Canada or the United States - Gather all your documents and certificates - Submit your application documents and registration fee
