Conditional Registration
What qualifications do I need?
Medical degree (original with translation) - One of either; (a) Certificate of licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), or (b) Certificate in Family Medicine or Specialty - ONE of the following: (a) two years of postgraduate training from an approved university with a minimum of 8 weeks in each: general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics; (b) completion or the residency requirements for the Specialty certificate, OR (c) completion of the certification requirements of the College of Family Physicians of Canada after the required family medicine residency training

Evaluation Exam - Qualifying Exam Part 1 - Qualifying Exam Part 2 - Specialty or Family Medicine Exam
What are the residency/immigration requirements?
You must be able to submit evidence of legal entitlement to live and work in Canada. Landed Immigrants, Convention Refugees and Canadian citizens may apply.
What are the language requirements?
You must be able to communicate in English.

What else do I need?
Certificate of good standing from the area that you last worked in (dated no more than three months before application) - Application form - Documentation of all approved training - Proof of identity (birth certificate, passport) - Passport size photo
What are the steps I need to take?
Write Evaluation Exam - Write Qualifying Exam Part 1 and Part 2 - Complete postgraduate training - Gather all your documents and certificates - Submit application - Write Specialty or Family Medicine exam
What qualifications do I need?
Medical degree from approved
school - Certificate of Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
- One of the following: (a) 2 years postgraduate training acceptable to
the College, (b) the highest qualification in a specialty from the UK,
Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa (c) a Diploma of the American
Specialty Boards, (d) be eligible for examination by the College of Family
Physicians of Canada, OR (e) produce a certificate from the Minister of
Health stating that you are required to provide service in a specific community
or practice setting.
