What qualifications do I need?
Be a graduate in medicine
from an approved medical school - Certificate of licentiate of the Medical
Council of Canada (MCC) - ONE of the following: (a) Specialty Certificate;
(b) Family Medicine Certficate; (c) Completion of 2 years of approved postgraduate
training with 44 weeks (8 weeks in each medicine, surgery, ob/gyn, and
pediatrics, and 4 weeks in each of psychiatry, emergency medicine, and
family/general practice) with at least one of the two years in Canada;
OR (d) completion of 2 years approved postgraduate training with 44 weeks
(8 weeks of medicine, surgery, ob/gyn, and pediatrics, and 4 weeks in psychiatry,
emergency medicine, and family/general practice) and 5 years of practice
in British Columbia on the Temporary Register and a satisfactory assessment
by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

What are the residency/immigration requirements?
You must be a permanent residence of British Columbia or show that you will be taking up permanent residency very soon • You must be a Canadian citizen or satisfy the registrar that you are legally entitled to work in Canada
What is the language requirement?
You must be able to speak, read, and write English to the satisfaction of the registrar

Evaluating Exam $1000
Qualifying Exam Part 1 $

What else do I need?
Written proof of your good standing and conduct from the licensing body where you last practiced
What are the steps I need to take?
Write exams - Apply for temporary license (valid for 5 years) - Complete the 2 year training requirement - Gather all your documents and certificates - Submit your application, documents and registration fee
What qualifications do I need?
Be a graduate in medicine from an approved medical school - Have postgraduate training appropriate for the practice and approved by Council - Complete exams acceptable to Council
What exams do I need to write?
Evaluating Exam - Qualifying
Exam Part 1 - Qualifying Exam Part 2 - TOEFL
