Position: Counsellor/Case Manager - Addiction Treatment
Full-time (35 hours/week) - Contract (four months) $37,471-$47,106
Parkdale community Health Centre is situated in a vibrant, multicultural, multi-racial inner-city neighbourhood. We work with our community, in all its diversity, to address its health-related needs through community development and action, the delivery of primary health care, harm reduction services, addiction treatment, counselling, advocacy and health promotion. We give priority to individuals and groups who traditionally encounter barriers to high quality health care services, including refugees, immigrants, gays and lesbians, people who live in poverty, psychiatric survivors, women, seniors and people who live on or near the street.
The Satellite's inter-disciplinary team provides addiction treatment and harm reduction services to opiate users in an out-patient, community-based setting. We are looking for a counsellor/case manager with an addiction treatment background and a strong commitment to comprehensive, compassionate, addiction treatment and inter-disciplinary team work.
The ideal candidate will be innovative and skilled in addiction treatment, operate from a harm reduction perspective and have at least five years clinical experience with clients who have multiple needs. A graduate degree in psychology or nursing with a counselling emphasis, social work or occupational therapy is preferred, but other combinations of university undergraduate education and experience may be considered.
